SERDANG: The Agriculture and Food Industries Ministry needs to continue its efforts to overcome agricultural middlemen, says Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

Speaking at the Malaysian Agriculture, Horticulture and Agro-tourism Exhibition (MAHA) 2022 here on Saturday (Aug 6), he also said that the government would continue to ensure an adequate and safe food supply for Keluarga Malaysia (the Malaysian Family).

Ismail Sabri added that the government's intervention to strengthen food security has proven to be successful as with the current excess supply of chicken and eggs being sold below the ceiling price following supply shortages a few months ago.

He also said that the Agrobankhas established an investment entity to raise the level of domestic investment in the country's agro-food sector.
